hi, i’m Amayah Edwards

“No one owns Art”

Amayah Edwards is a southern chef, nutritionist, writer, painter, creative director, producer, financial analyst, and lover of all things beautiful.

She graduated from college with her Bachelor’s of Science in Community Health and Nutrition, emphasis in Statistics, minoring in African American studies. She was on the Dean’s List, with Summa Cum Laude honors. She is a certified functional nutritionist. She spent 3 years in Oregon gaining fieldwork practice and credit hours researching the link between human beings, nature, food, healing, and regulation.

During high school she was a chemist. During her matriculation at Howard, Amayah was a BravenX fellow, the Howard Chapter of the NAACP Health chair, a Horatio Alger Scholar, a Corvias scholar, and a certified Biotechnician assistant. She also interned with multiple offices during her undergraduate career. This time spent understanding others introduced her to a world of intentional healing through community, intention, and storytelling. Amayah is a true connector by nature and gently encourages growth in others, even at the expense of comfort.

Amayah considers herself a learner of life and is always eager to learn, grow, and rise! Amayah prides herself on healthy eating as a lifestyle, actively understanding the world around her, and healing through storytelling. Amayah is a learner of life and muse of the Creator.

Her private nutrition practice and catering leg of her brand, Monae Cooks, is heart-centered, embodied, and transparent. Her specialty lies in indigestion, skin health, post-op care, and reclaiming the body and vagus nerve health after traumatic experiences. She encourages the organizations and individuals that she works with to play with life more and not take it so seriously.

In her free time, she enjoys reading novels that challenge modern thinking, dousing herself in glitter, directing creative projects, meditating, connecting with nature, volunteering in her community, gardening, cooking for others, traveling, making memories with her family and friends, and spending time acting on her goals and ambitions.

Today, she is also the host of Fabulous and Fortunate podcast, a space dedicated to being grounded in who you are as you journey through life with beauty in mind🌹. Alongside this, she continues to study the dense intersection of health, trauma, and nutrition from the lens of the vagus nerve because it’s truly fascinating. In anything she does, Amayah aims to always have her head and heart speak with one voice.
