Earthy Poetry

You welcome me into your world

And I enter with a warrior’s sort of twirl

I have missed this musky aroma

One that speaks of the memory of the deity Soma

Planted feet on the ground

Hoping my steps don’t make a sound

For I don’t want the squirrels to hear

For its us humans they sometimes fear

This grass is cold and slightly wet

With a tinge of movement I can never forget

The melody of Spring fills my ears

As I laugh at my joy-filled tears

Why do I feel so calm here?

As you let dandelions stroke my ear

Why do I have this love affair with your dew?

As if nothing else matters but me and you

Well, I suppose it makes perfect sense

Given all the ways you influence my favorite incense

Smell, touch, taste, and hearing all becoming apparent

With my eyesight reimagined and heavily spent

Now, excuse me as I thank God for a day that truly is heaven sent

This ain’t no AI

And this isn’t something on the bye and bye

This is real and raw

As your Sun tinges and licks at my jaw

Thank you for holding me when I couldn’t hold myself

Thank you for taking my dreams down from that dusty shelf

Pour us a glass of libation and let us toast

Toast to life, toast to adventures on your coasts

Oh Earth, one more thing I must say

Will you enrapture me into your arms once more, on my dying day?
