Happy Spring Equinox and National Day of Astrology aka the start of the astrological year. So many feels and so many happenings. Firstly I’d like to say thank you for reading and my hope is that you’ve been enjoying your months leading up to this Equinox.
Here we are on the cusp of the Spring Equinox and honestly how beautiful is that. The trees are starting to bloom, the pollen is starting to meander through the air, and hay fever is starting to kick my butt, welcome to spring.

All this talk about spring going around and the energy that the Equinox brings got me thinking about how nature always does its thing anyway. It doesn’t wait to be perfect to do what God put them here to do. Nature just is. So on today I am pondering about how to not be attached to the outcome, letting things bloom and grow and not trying to conceal them because they’re not perfect enough yet. The flowers bloom anyway. They don’t wait until they are perfect. They use the cells and information in their DNA that has been given to them to come to blossom. They don’t hinder their growth because they feel they aren’t ready yet.
Stop waiting to be perfect to do what God or your higher power put you here to do. This was honestly something I heavily struggled with. And maybe this is why I heavily became intertwined with astrology because it can act as a trusted manual for my journey here on earth. Astrology is a beautiful practice that intertwines science and the esoteric. It’s been a beautiful tool and while I’m no pro-astrologer it doesn’t matter, I had the desire to learn and remember the wisdom of the stars and share that with others from time to time, hence starting my podcast. The intention is what matters, not the destination.
Crystals and using their properties to support me became a wonderful tool too. And speaking of crystals, one that I’ve been enjoying connecting with lately is Amber. This beautiful crystal holds the earth’s memory and since amber has insects trapped in its sticky nectar, it symbolizes how memory can be held. Amber is associated with the solar plexus chakra, this chakra aligns with our personal power, confidence, bravery, and courage.
Some foods to eat especially now are foods that are yellow, such as mangoes, pineapple, ginger, etc! Yellow is a beautiful color as well as it stimulates creativity, encourages success in the pursuit of our dreams, and also encourages us to not second guess ourselves.
Amber gets us out of our head and into our body. And this Equinox is an invitation to get out of your head, that has the self-doubt and perfectionism, and get into your body, which contains the wisdom and soul memory. Our digestive system is heavily impacted by this, and also aligns with our purpose.
The sun enters Aries at 11:06 pm EST/8:06 pm PST. On today, March 19, 2024, the moon entered Leo at 3:33 EST and 12:33 PST. A coincidence? I think not. 3 + 3 + 3 represents alignment and completion as this equals 9. So take this as it resonates, but a cycle of a season has come to completion. What happens next is totally up to you. Leo is ruled by the Sun and Aries is ruled by Mars. We have some fire here that has been building up and we are being gently guided to allow this fire to burn in a direction that aligns with our purpose and higher calling.
Last night I was invited to a poetry reading of a black author I had went to see before when I lived in DC 5 years ago, one whom I deeply respect. Happened by “coincidence” that a colleague of mine happened to invite me to this. Some other things happened synchronicity wise there that I will keep to myself, but that was a gentle yet powerful reminder for me. It’s never a right time to honor your purpose and your true roots, I’ve always told my friends that in advice driven conversations and those I love, but taking my own advice had been something I traditionally struggled with. Also something I’ve been thinking about is how important representation is, how important it is for their to be black thought leaders, creators, and entrepreneurs out there following their dreams so that those who come after see that it is more than possible. It was a bit of a full circle moment for me, one that left me musing even more.
What gentle yet powerful nudge is your higher power giving you right now? This week is another chance to give dreams a fresh chance. A playful, childish, and masculine energy is at play here as the current moon in Leo invites play, leadership, and charisma.
I’m feeling quite playful and childish today, despite the hay fever. As I sit here and sip on my pho, I am reminded of the power of slowly sipping and savoring, yet actually doing.

How can we use the teachings of the winter season to incorporate them into who we are and what we bring now and how do these factors play out in our everyday?
In courage and bravery as I send these words, go be great and don’t wait for the right time.
